Climate/Weather. There is good reason why Florida is known as the sunshine state. Our region enjoys an average annual high temperature of 72 degrees and an average annual low temperature of 62 degrees. We have an average annual rain fall of 68 inches. Our beautiful climate encourages residents to enjoy a multitude of outdoor activities and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Cost of Living. On average, Florida's Research Coast's cost of living is below average compared to other states with similar growth patterns. Home ownership rates at 68% for the region with an average median home value of $136,200. Florida also does not have a personal income tax. This allows the average resident to have access to more of their money.

Arts & Culture. Florida's Research Coast offers a wide variety of art, culture and history destinations. The region understands that residents like to enjoy art and cultural activities. The region offers numerous festivals, art exhibits, entertainment, theatrical shows, musical events, orchestra performances and dance events. We are also home to historical museums, science exhibits, art galleries, jazz & nightclubs and dance halls.

Recreation. With over 32 golf courses located in the four county region, miles of white sandy beaches, unique shopping, dining, water sports, fishing, hunting and camping the region offers something for everyone. Port St. Lucie is the spring training home of the New York Mets and is the home of the Class A Mets farm system. The Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals host their spring training facilities just to our south in Jupiter. The Honda Classic, an annual PGA Tour event is held to our south in Palm Beach Gardens each spring.

Tourism. Known for its long stretches of beautiful beach, rocky inlets, expansive intracoastal waterway, lakes, mangroves, magnificent nature preserves, estuaries and wildlife, Florida's Research Coast is a top tourist destination.
