Florida's Research Coast offers a superior location that is highlighted by transportation capabilities for all functions. Reaching Florida's Research Coast is easy. We have major interstates, turnpike, state and rural routes that help connect residents and businesses to the rest of the state and nation. Shipping and distribution for business is supported by an extensive network of choices.

Trucking. Florida's Research Coast is heavily supported by the trucking industry, with more than 50 firms operating within a 75 mile radius.

Airports. Florida's Research Coast is located within close proximity to five domestic and international airports. Palm Beach International Airport is approximately 30 miles to the south. Orlando International Airport is approximately 1.5 hours to the northwest. Melbourne International Airport is 40 miles north and Ft. Lauderdale and Miami International airports are approximately 1.5 hours and 2 hours to the south. In addition, the region has several airports to accommodate corporate travel. This includes airports in Stuart, Port St. Lucie, Vero Beach and Okeechobee.

Ports. The shipment of goods into and out of the areas water port, Port of Fort Pierce and inland terminal help facilitate international trade.

Freight Rail. CSX Railway and Florida East Coast Railroad provides freight service in every county on Florida's Research Coast, making the movement of product by rail simple and dependable.

Passenger Transport. A variety of systems serve the need for public transportation in the region, including a public bus system and taxi services. In addition, Amtrak and Greyhound provide passenger service with stations in Stuart, Port St. Lucie, Ft. Pierce and Vero Beach.
